“As an owner-managed company, social responsibility and supporting our region are particularly important to us. When we heard about the new project at the Tiefenbach Forest Kindergarten, it was immediately clear that we wanted to lend a hand!” said AKE Managing Director Boris Schneidhuber.
The forest kindergarten in Tiefenbach is affectionately known as “Wakiti.” Currently, 20 children are enrolled and spend most of their time outdoors or, in bad weather, in their tipi.
Now, a new construction trailer is planned as an additional retreat, reports board member Johanna Held. Furthermore, the trailer will later be used for educational activities in small groups. Donations are currently being collected for the project.
When we arrived at the forest kindergarten last Friday for the donation handover, we were delighted. With the light snowfall, the place looked like a small winter wonderland. The Wakiti children, bundled up warmly, greeted us. They had just finished cooking pumpkin soup over a campfire in their tipi, the little ones told us. You could practically see how comfortable the children felt there.
Managing Director Bernhard König beams: “This forest kindergarten is a fantastic thing. We're delighted to be able to help create a new place for the children to relax and learn with the construction trailer!”
AKE technologies GmbH is providing the Tiefenbach Forest Kindergarten with €12,000 for the new trailer. Furthermore, we also want to help with the initial setup. We are thrilled with everything the forest kindergarten team, led by Petra Schweighofer, has already accomplished and are looking forward to this new project!
